Laura Calder Bio

Laura Calder was born and raised in eastern Canada. She attended university in Canada and the United Kingdom, and began her career in journalism before turning to food, which she studied in Canada and at Ecole de Cuisine LaVarenne in France.

Laura is the author of French Food at Home and French Taste (both HarperCollins). She has also contributed to a number of publications, including Vogue Entertaining + Travel, The Times of London, Salon.com, Gastronomica and Flare magazine.

Laura wrote and hosted 78 episodes of the Food Network Canada series French Food at Home. She also hosted the James Beard nominated one-hour special The Château Dinner and was a participating host in the Food Network Canada Christmas special, 'Twas the Night Before Dinner.

After a decade in France, Laura is currently living in Canada.
