Roger Mooking has earned a reputation as one of Canada’s premier chefs by developing a culinary philosophy built on perfect execution of globally inspired culinary traditions.
As a third-generation restaurateur and chef, he began his formal training through the George Brown Culinary Management Program where he earned Top Student Honors. Roger continued his training at Epic Dining Room in Toronto’s world-renowned Royal York Hotel before co-owning and consulting on many food and beverage operations. Since that time he has been the subject of numerous television and print features internationally and nationally, including Food Network, HGTV, The New York Times, Wallpaper magazine and Toronto Life.
Currently Roger is the host and co-creator of his own internationally broadcast television series, Everyday Exotic, as well as Man Fire Food on Cooking Channel. He is also the co-host of the hit show Heat Seekers on Food Network. Roger has appeared on Cooking Channel’s Chefography, as well as on Red, White and Grill featuring Williams-Sonoma.
To add to his growing plate, Roger’s highly anticipated first cookbook, Everyday Exotic: The Cookbook, hit shelves in 2011. The cookbook quickly acquired attention, winning the prestigious award for Best First Cookbook within Canada for The Gourmand World Cookbook Awards held annually in Paris.
In addition he is the recording artist and creator of Feedback (2013). For Roger, music and the epicurean world are seamless. One feeds the body, the other the soul; it is all food in all its various forms.
