Daniel Boulud is the quintessential French chef and a culinary superstar, winner of four James Beard awards (including Outstanding Chef of the Year in 1994), owner of six restaurants, author of six cookbooks and star of his own television series. He was even honored by the President of France in 2006 with France's highest decoration, a Chevalier de la Légion d'honneur (Knight of the National Order of the Legion of Honor) for his advancement of French culture.

Daniel developed a passion for food growing up on his family's farm near Lyon, France, but ended up chef and owner of one of the top restaurants in the world, Daniel in New York City.
