You know what they say about an apple a day. So why not commit to getting in your red (or green) all week long. We’ve developed the perfect meal plan for a week of all-apple eating.

Sunday: With an eye toward Monday breakfast, make a giant apple crisp. Kelsey’s 5-star apple crisp recipe (pictured above) comes together quickly and is ideal for a dinner party or leftovers.

Monday: Buck conventions and go sweet for dinner tonight. Kelsey's apple empanadas are pretty low-maintenance, thanks to frozen puff pastry. The delicate almond pastry cream cuts any sweetness from the brown sugar.

Tuesday: Care for some comfort food? Rachael updates the grilled-cheese-and-tomato-soup classic with this combo, which pairs  apple-celery root soup with a bacon-apple grilled cheese.

Wednesday: Adios, barbecue sauce. Flavor your pork tenderloin (or chicken or turkey) with this tangy, peppery apple rub.

Thursday: Need one more jolt to get you through the week? Turn to the insanely delicious salted caramel apple pie from Brooklyn’s Four + 20 Blackbirds. It is time-consuming, but completely worth the effort.

Friday: It's the end of the week! Break into the liquor cabinet for these cinnamon-laced baked apples with rum. Pair them with calvados and, if you're really feeling it, add a scoop of rum raisin ice cream.

Saturday: Kick off the weekend with Bobby’s Belgian waffles. The magic is in the homemade cinnamon butter and sauteed cider apples. Save any extra apples to fold into crepes or serve over ice cream.

Fall Fest: Caramel Apples for Halloween

Happy Halloween! You might be full of mini candy bars already but since they are mainly a crispy fruit, there's always room for candy-coated apples.

Fall Fest: Apples Give Salad Crunch

You could spend hours browsing the in season apple selections at the famers' market but I'm happy to head right to the Honey Crisp variety. Some might call these the "fancy" variety because they can be a bit more expensive. But one bite of this super sweet and crunchy gift from the orchard and I promise, you'll be sold. So I'm happy to eat these as soon as I can get my hands on them, but their super-sweet quality and zero chance for mealy texture, makes them the perfect candidate for a salad mix-in.
