I watched the episode before making this recipe and followed it to the letter. Leaving the sliced bread out overnight is crucial. Absolutely delicious. This has become a weekend staple at our house. I LOVE THIS SHOW!

Very good recipe but make sure to use the stale bread. Fresh bread won't ***** up the liquid as well and will fall apart if you leave it in the liquid for the full 30 seconds a side. If you must use fresh bread quickly coat each side and cook. I prefer using my electric griddle because it offers consistant heat across the cooking surface, which can also be achieved using cast iron.
