Tried this recipe today. It was awesome! I just changed the meet using chicken instead of beef and added celery, capsicum and green peace. Instead of crushed tomatoes I used chicken stock. Since I didn't managed to get Ajwain i replaced with cumin seed. It tasted really good. It tasted really good. Thanks once again!

This is absolutely the most delicious shepherds pie I have ever made! The spices are subtle yet very aromatic, and the pie is juicy, luscious and even better the second night. I did not have ajwain, but it didn't matter - just added a little more salt and pepper. As well, used herb and garlic mozzarella (by Philadelphia) and it added that little extra zest to the layers. Wonderful!!!!

Well I love to cook so when I saw this I was excited to try it. I honestly tried to follow the recipe to a T but didn't have some of the things it suggested but most of it. My family loved it as we love to eat "Pastelon de papa" (Puertorican version of Shepperds pie) and this was nice because it was different flavors and my family was very pleased. Thanks :)

I substituted the ground beef with more lentils and sautéed eggplant and additional celery..I stayed almost exactly to the spices and it was excellent. We are eating more plant based type of diet and this was good to add to the menu. THANKS!!!!

THIS IS NOT INDIAN SHEPHERDS' PIE,WHICH IS MADE WITH LAMB, THIS BEAUTY IS - MADE WITH BEEF, THEREFORE COTTAGE PIE!
ALL ENGLISH/BRITISH FOOD CAME FROM IN-MIGRATION, SO CALL IT WHAT YOU WILL BUT (ESPECIALLY MIDDLE & UPPER ENGLISH FOOD HAS BEEN FROM PRE-PEPPER AND OTHER EXOTIC SPICE DAYS, VERY FLAVOUR-FULL. THIS IS SUPERB OF COURSE. I LEARNED THAT AN INDIAN 'PINCH' OF SALT ETC IS DOUBLE MY MOTHER'S PINCH! THANY YOU.

I watched this on TV and even though I did not have leftover potatoes I made a pot just to do this meal and it was fantastic.
