I used ready made pie crusts to make the no fry apple pies and we all loved these small delights. I will make these often.

Instead of the whole wheat crust, I used all natural Egg Roll Wrappers. I also replaced the sugar with Splenda. Very good.

One word...."HORRIBLE" I am always on the search for a low cal/low fat recipe. I wasn't expecting the pies to taste like a fried pie by no means. The pie crust was horrible...the filling had little to no liquid.
I hate I wasted 2+ hours making this recipe.
I love Paula Deen...but sorry Bobby this definetly is not your mama's fried pies....smh
Bobby I hope your other recipes are better!

A delicious low fat, low sugar dessert! The crust is more bread like and not flaky because of the wheat flour and small amount of butter, but the addition of the baking powder prevents them from being too heavy. I tossed a handful of raisins into half of the pies and they were also delicious. I'm sure these would be great using any type of fruit, and am looking forward to trying them with berries and peaches.
