    Try replacing the Filo dough with puff pastry. It is much stronger and much easier to work with. I also believe that it would be tastier. Seal the ends I hate the taste and texture of Filo dough. If you are using puff pastry, In addition to the egg inside the mixture, add one beaten egg on top of the puff pastry and dust it with confectioners sugar and cinnamon before baking. I have been very successful when I bake my strudels at 400 degrees for approx. 30 minutes. Toffuti soy-based cream cheese and sour cream can substitute ounce for ounce for the cheese without changing the baking times.

    One word DISASTER! I think it calls for way too much butter and there are not enough layers it was too thin I think. Mine exploded and was all over the pan in a puddle of butter :(
