It was just OK. It's very easy, but, as a good (aspiring chef, I would do things a little differently.
After the chicken is cooked and resting on a plate, I'd sautee the onions, first, until soft and just beginning to caramelize. Then, add the apples, (hopefully a good variety that's in season, (get what you like. I like Pink Lady. Finish cooking the apples and onions until tender. Go HEAVY on the curry powder, maybe even add a little Tumeric, and light on the chutney. Maybe use some apricot jam or preserves instead. Then finish the recipe as stated. I served it over rice.

Delicious and easy (and I mean easy - I'm no cook. I really like the recipe as-is, but it was so easy I think I might play with it to come up with different versions too - I can already taste one with more Mexican flavors... yummmm!

For anyone looking for a new chicken recipe, try this one. My husband almost told me not to make it. He thought it wasn't something he would like. He ended up loving it and said we've found a new chicken recipe for life. Easy, cheap, and really yummy.
We thought it would be better with 2 apples & 2 onions. We used boneless/skinless chicken thighs (I would have preferred the breasts but since I wanted my husband to eat it, I used the thighs for the first time, cooked them, then cut them up and put them back into the pan with the apples/onions/chutney for a few minutes at the end. We used sweet mango chutney. The store also had hot but I was afraid it would be too hot. My husband put cayenne pepper on his to make it hotter.

This is really delicious however, to make it "healthier, I substituted extra virgin olive oil instead of vegetable oil.
