These cookies are unlike anything I've ever tasted or baked before. They are unbelievable, as in, I can't quite believe what i am tasting. Are they sweet? Are they salty? Both? What? Everyone who tasted them had a strong though slightly confused reaction: from "wow, amazing" to "what?" to "really yummy and sweet" to "more savory than sweet" to my favorite comment, from my brother-in-law "wow, it's really good, you could wrap this around a hot dog and eat it" to ... Well, you get the idea. I love these cookies, but it was not love at first bite; it was similar to my Crack Pie--same cookbook/bakery--experience. At first I thought, that was good, but no big deal. Then I was drawn back to the kitchen for another bite...and another, and another... Until I realized i had eaten half the pie by myself in less than an hour. Likewise, the corn cookies are wildly addictive. I crave them. And always want more. Except when I don't. But then I do. What? :-
