  • 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmigiano Reggiano cheese
  • 2 tablespoons formaggino (Italian cream cheese)
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Directions

Salt a pot of boiling water, and cook the penne according to instructions on the package. Drain the penne, reserving some pasta water. Pour the pasta into a mixing bowl, along with some pasta water. Add the grated Parmigiano Reggiano cheese, formaggino, and butter. Allow the hot pasta to melt all the ingredients. Mix well and serve immediately

    I made this the other night, wanting a pasta dish to with my roasted Pork Loin and homemade applesauce and came across this recipe. I also used regular cream cheese and it was very good, the flavor was right on and it wasn't heavy at all, and it was fast and easy, the hubby loved it and requested it later in the week instead of my homemade mac n cheese. I love David's show and look foward to making more of his recipes.

    Easy, quick, yummy. Even my really picky boys cleaned their bowls, and asked to have it at least a couple times a week. The only thing I changed was used Philadelphia Cream Cheese, and added some ground black pepper. Thanks David for another easy, homemade Italian dish :
