Made this the other night and really enjoyed it. I used the poor mans saffron; turmeric. It worked out well just use a little bit. I looked into the saffron but it was TOO expensive. I also used chicken stock instead of vegetable as that's what I had on hand.
I will make this again. I just love watching the show!

LOVE LOVE LOVE this dish. I watch the show and my daughter chose to make this dish with her father who is a chef, for our saturday family/game night. It was so good and the whole family including our 2yr old loved it. This will definately be added to our family favorites.

Love this dish! I have always made a slightly different version of this which includes chopped kale in it, but not the herbs. Love the addition of the sage, rosemary, and saffron. This time I added chopped swiss chard....gotta get those leafy greens in! My family decided this is the new version to use!

I watched "Extra Virgin" the other day and saw them making this dish.I love the show! It looked very tasty so I decided to make it for dinner. Normally I am a red sauce kind of guy but this was Wow! SOOOO GOOD!!!. I will be making this a lot, I know. I did change one thing though. I'm trying to eat healthier, so I substituted Italian chicken sausage. It's only 80 cals per serving and 3 grams fat. The only thing that I questioned was the saffron.I never used it before. I bought an oz. for $17.99. I used it like stated in recipe and I did not notice a major flavor from it. Maybe saffron is not a strong flavor, so in the future I may omit and save $$. Using really good aged expensive Parmesan cheese just makes the dish.
