This is a very easy and delicious recipe. I made a few adjustments and it still came out great. I used 2 cups of broth because 4 cups just seemed like a lot since the meat also adds its own juices. I did not use turnips or parsnips. I also halved the amount of flour since I do not like my gravy too thick. It was the perfect consistency. I also had a pretty fatty cut of chuck roast so I let the sauce sit for a few hours to make it easier to skim off the fat. There is nothing worse than gravy that can double as lip balm. My gravy was perfect and the roast was tender and flavorful. I will definitely make this again.

Simple but so delicious! My husband said it was the best roast he's ever eaten. Made me so proud!
