Ingredients

Directions

  1. Fill a kettle with cool water and heat on high until it boils. Let the kettle sit until it cools to about 195 degrees F.
  2. Fill a grinder with the coffee beans (add an extra scoop for navy-style coffee). Grind the beans for a few seconds to coarse grounds. Add the coffee grinds to a French press. Quickly pour the hot water into the press, filling it to the top. Let the coffee steep for 4 minutes. Stir after 1 minute. Place the lid over the French press and wait 3 minutes. Plunge the press. Pour into cups and add milk and sugar as needed.

Cook’s Note

You'll need about 1 tablespoon of coffee grounds for every 4 ounces of water.
