Ingredients

  • 1 ounce or 2 tablespoons gin (recommended: Hendricks)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon simple syrup* (See Cook's Note)
  • Champagne, as needed
  • Lemon twist, for garnish

Directions

In a cocktail shaker combine the gin, lemon juice, and simple syrup. Shake and strain into a Champagne flute. Top the flute with Champagne and use a lemon twist for a garnish.

Cook's Note

Simple syrup is equal parts sugar and water cooked until the sugar dissolves and then cooled completely.
