- 1 ounce or 2 tablespoons gin (recommended: Hendricks)
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon simple syrup*
- Champagne, as needed
- Lemon twist, for garnish
- *Cook's Note: Simple syrup is equal parts sugar and water cooked until the sugar dissolves and then cooled completely.
In a cocktail shaker combine the gin, lemon juice, and simple syrup. Shake and strain into a Champagne flute. Top the flute with Champagne and use a lemon twist for a garnish.
