I have been baking bread regularly for about two years now and this is by far the best recipe I've seen. The method alone --ice cubes!!!!!-- deserves five stars. Six if you count how much frustration I've been through trying to steam my oven with little success. I saw this the other day on TV and tried it the next morning! It turned out beautifully! Note: my ice cubes were a bit different than hers on the show, so I used a few more. The crust was impeccable! Blogged about it immediately. Love love love!

My first time attempting to make a bread outside of a bread machine and I thought it turned out really good! I would definitely make again.

I made this as a starter to go with a cheese board for a French dinner party - 5 courses with Julia Child's Beef Burgundy, Laura Calder's peas, potatoes anna, and coffee eclairs. Of all the dishes I made, this got the best reviews. It doesn't come out as crusty as a store-bought baguette, but this gives it a nice homemade touch. I have never made bread before and this worked without difficulty for me, don't be scared to try it. My father almost left the dinner angry because I "wouldn't tell him where I got the bread" - he couldn't believe I made it!

This recipe was great. You can have fresh bread for dinner in less than 1.5 hours. My family loved it.
