Directions

1.Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9 x 13 baking dish.

2.Combine the melted butter, sugar, and vanilla in a large bowl. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each, until thoroughly blended.

3.Sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually stir the dry mixture into the wet mixture until blended. Stir in the chocolate morsels. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking dish.

4.Bake in preheated oven until an inserted toothpick comes out clean, 35 to 40 minutes. Remove, and cool pan on wire rack before cutting.

5.To make tiered cakes: using a small, medium, and large biscuit cutter cut out 3 circles. Top brownie circles on top of each other from large too small. Dust with powdered sugar and top with a cherry or raspberry.

My husband is a total brownie lover and i'm always looking for "the brownie". I've finally found it!! After tasting these brownies - he told me not to make any other recipes again: The only thing I did differently is that I added some coffee to the mixture to bring out the chocolate flavor. Enjoy!

Very, very tasty and fudgy brownies - and my husband concurs. We have been on a quest for what he calls "the perfect brownie", either recipe or in a bakery, and with this one he said it comes close. For him, this actually means a lot!! I always underbake my brownies for extra fudginess and this one did not disappoint. They are truly delicious; this will now become my go-to brownie recipe. I recently got the new issue of Food Network magazine (which has 50 brownie recipes and these beat the other 6 recipes I tried this week!!
