    This was the BEST bolognese sauce recipe EVER! My family licked their plates clean and told me it was better than a restaurant! I did have nutmeg so that was omitted and instead of ground pork, I had cut up a small bit of pork shoulder into tiny pieces, which shredded itself during cooking. This recipe was fabulous served with Kelsey's garlic knots. YUM!!

    Very tasty, excellent recipe. I went step by step as mentioned but made little changes. I uses 1 pound ground beef and 1 pound ground turkey and precooked them.6 hours on high in a slow cooker.

    So, you put the beef and pork in the crock pot raw? Every crock pot recipe I have that calls for ground beef has me cook it before I put it in the crock pot, so I just wanted to make sure. Can't wait to try this!

    This is the best! I have been looking for the perfect bolognese sauce and that it simmers all day in the crockpot is an added bonus! The prep smelled wonderful as did my home all day. My husband took one bite and declared it a keeper. Had enough after dinner to freeze four containers. No need to change up anything, it was absolutely delicious! Thanks Kelsey!!

    This sauce is yummy and hearty. I almost didn't make it because of the first review too, however, I figured I could tweak it if it didn't come out great...but I didn't need to do a thing. That distinct flavor of the pork added such a nice depth of flavor without being overwhelming. Plus, it was so easy to make - I prepped and had all ingredients sauteed and in the slow cooker before my daughters could finish their lunch. Thanks Kelsey for a home run that I can make large batched of and have on hand.

    Kelsey, Thank you so much for a wonderful and easy Bolognese sauce! My husband and sons enjoyed your sauce so much, they asked to have left overs for lunch the next day. I loved your idea of using a slow cooker, so no need for me to stand around the stove all day. Found list of ingredients and directions easy to follow. Had reservations about trying this recipe because of the first reviewer, but so glad I did not listen to that review! No way was this sauce bland. It was perfect and reminded me of the sauce my mother use to make. What depth of favor and heartiness it had. Regards, NancieCarole
