This cake is amazing every time. Recently, I've started omitting the grapes if I don't have them on hand, in reality they don't add much flavor to the cake, (but make it pretty :

LOVED it. I would call it a Citrus Cake more than a Grape cake. Light and Moist. Not too tarte nor sweet. The grapes tasted like light weight raisins. Perfect size cake. Just Delicious!!
I will make this often and serve to company. I rated 5 stars because of taste and moisture. However, even though I followed directions with adding 1/2 the grapes in later, all the grapes ended up on the bottom. But that didn't bother me. Next time, I'll wait a few more minutes to add. And if they stay on the top layer like the picture and on TV I'll call it a grape cake. If they sink, I'll call it a citrus cake. No matter, everyone will love it.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this cake!!!! I had a bunch of red grapes just sitting around and remembered seeing this recipe on Laura's show. Just made it this afternoon, and it's one of the best cakes I have EVER tasted. Moist, delicious, and not too sweet. Very European. Just perfect!

I made this for my friends and they all loved it. It wasn't overly sweet or too heavy.
Easy to make and the results were pictures perfect.

I did as you suggested and baked it for 20 minutes with half of the grapes incorporated in the batter, then pulled it out and placed the remainder of the grapes on top and baked it for another 25 minutes.

    Delicious!!!!!

I made this cake last night and after 25 min. it was not done at all. I cooked it for 55 min.
Then when we cut into it, the middle was runny and not done. I believe this would be a wonderful tasting cake but not sure the temperature is correct? Maybe it should cook at a higher temperature? Has anyone else had this problem? Please let me know as I really want to make this again.

We just saw Laura make this cake this afternoon and had everything in our pantry so we tried it. It is the lightest cake and has the most delicious lemon/orange flavor. Very delicate and very easy to make. My husband did the whisking and I did everything else but I am taking all the credit. You rock Laura. We love watching you. You make French cooking so easy and approachable. We watch you religiously you are adorable and this is the first recipe I have tried of yours but it won't be the last. We are making your potatoes ande olives tomorrow for Easter. I'm sure they will be killer!
