I am married to a picky German. Sure, he eats what I make for him and is mostly happy too with my cooking. But when I try to make anything close to European food, I unfortunately don't always receive rave reviews...much less from the kids. So, when I found this recipe for braised cabbage, I thought hmmmm ok I will try. And it was such a hit! This recipe is so delicious, so full of flavors that blend together wonderfully! It goes with all kinds of meat dishes as a perfect side! I have even made schnitzel and the cabbage sides up with the potatoes as a terrific dinner! Thanks, Laura! Btw, your show is terrific! I love your relaxed, yet to-the-point cooking method!!!

One of the best red cabbage recipes I've had. Easy to do, delightful to eat. Will go with many entrees. Will probably serve it under a thick pork chop in the near future.
