      Core and shred the cabbage. Heat the butter in a large pot or saute pan. Add the cabbage, and season with salt, and pepper. Cook the cabbage, tossing, until the ribbons of cabbage soften and shrink down somewhat, about 7 minutes. Transfer the cabbage to a warm serving bowl.

        I rarely cook cabbage but this is too easy and delicious to not keep it in the vegetable rotation. It was so simple that I almost felt guilty listening to my husband rave about it. I did toss some parsley and chives in at the end to use up the last of some herb bunches in the fridge. Served this as a side for grilled bratwurst with beer braised onion relish. Will definitely make again.

        I've never thought much about cabbage, but since making this, I LOVE it! I'm already planning on it being in my garden as soon as possible!
        I made with a head of Napa cabbage since I couldn't locate the Savoy. Came out great and served it with Laura's Mustard Pork! My 7 year old begs for it!!
