Wonderful alternative to "boring" steamed rice. I also used dried thyme and it was fine. Onions sauteed approximately 20-25 minutes and rice takes 11-12 minutes. Next time I will cut the recipe in half because it makes enough for a large crowd.

Love this recipe! I did not have any fresh thyme so I used about 1 teaspoon of dried. It worked great. This recipe is so simple, but it makes the rice very special. I doubt I'll ever make plain rice again.

Was very good, I cut down on the onions because I though it was too much but I shouldn't have done that. I'll make it again!

This is so simple and so good. I use brown rice and can almost eat the whole by myself, by itself!!

This was SOOOO delicious and SOOOO easy! This can be served almost any dish that has rice as a side. The variation possibilites are bountiful! Boiling the rice makes this quick, effortless. The sweet carmalized onions, tons of flavor! We'll be eating a lot more rice in my home!
