Directions

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly grease a 9- by 13-inch baking dish.

In a large pot of salted water, cook the elbow macaroni until it is 4 minutes from being cooked through. Drain and add in the butter and cheese, and season with salt and pepper. Toss until the butter is melted and all are combined. Place in the prepared baking dish.

In a large bowl, whisk together the egg and milk. Pour the mixture over the pasta and stir well. Sprinkle with the paprika.

Bake, uncovered, until the top is brown, 30 to 40 minutes. Serve immediately.

I've never really tried any of the recipes from this show but as soon as I seen Ms. Martin on the show she warmed my heart and felt like my grandmother. She warmed my home, I am soooooo trying all of her recipes. She is so sweet! HOW ABOUT THAT!

Love this recipe. I lived in SC for 3 years from 1987-1990 and never liked mac & cheese until I tasted their local mac & cheese. I never could put my finger on what was exactly in it that made it taste so good until I watched Millie Martin make hers on this show. I am so glad Mo had her on and now I can make this dish the way Millie made hers and it will bring back good memories of how it should be made. How about that!
