This is really good! I omitted the fennel and garbanzo beans and it was great!!!!!!!!!!!! I love the poaching liquid with the lemon in it. I will always make it that way from now on. I love soup! My husband on the other hand is not a big soup lover, but he liked it too. (He, ofcourse thinks there should be steak and potatoes for every meal The flavor of this broth is amazing. I want to make it again but I still have some in the fridge! I like cooking the week in a day meals, even though I don't work. It is fun and the house smells wonderful!

Excellent. This makes a lot of soup, too. As the week went on, I added more water or broth to the mix to stretch it out even longer. The only thing I may change is to leave out the garbanzo beans - those are not my favorite. And I might puree a bit to turn this into a "stoup" next time, too. This one is a keeper!

This soup was amazing. I used spicy Italian sausage instead of sweet, and the real, homemade stock recipe as well ... and the lemon-ey background was just awesome in this soup. Totally making this one again.

Awesome! My family and I loved this soup. The poaching liquid from the chicken really adds to the flavor. The recipe made enough for 2 meals! I'm sure the leftovers will freeze beautifully. I was especially struck by how well the beans were incorporated into the soup. I thought my family would complain about them, but all the ingredients were so well integrated that they didn't even notice them. I used orzo instead of the spaghetti.
