Directions

Preheat the oven to 300 degrees F.

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside. In a big bowl, beat together the egg white and 1/4 cup brown sugar. Add the raw pecans and stir until the nuts are completely coated. Transfer the pecans onto a baking sheet in a single, even layer. Bake for 30 minutes.

In a jar with a tight-fitting lid, combine the extra-virgin olive oil, white balsamic vinegar, pinch of brown sugar, sea salt, and white pepper, to taste. Cover the jar and shake vigorously for 30 seconds to emulsify.

In a bowl, toss the mesclun greens, strawberries, and candied pecans with the vinaigrette

What a charming host and what a great little salad with just a few basic ingredients. This salad is a favorite for young and old alike in my family, a rare thing we all agree on! The most time consuming thing is the pecans but they are well worth the little bit of prep and 30 minutes cooking time they require - you will not regret it! Go Nadia!

This is so good. I don't know why I haven't made it before now. I didn't have pecans and mesclun greens on hand at the time so I used walnuts and other greens instead. It was still delish. The dressing was also very good. I will be making this a lot more often.

Nadia, keep up the good work. You have kept me and my fiance in stitches show after show. We won't miss an episode and often watch reruns just for the laughs.
