1 onion, finely chopped
1/2 fresh red chile, finely chopped
1 teaspoon salt
Juice of 2 lemons
Sprig fresh parsley
Combine the onions and chiles in a bowl, and then stir in the salt and lemon juice. Let stand in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
Strain and use as a gargle. After gargling, chew on a sprig of parsley to freshen breath.
Use the gargle daily, as soon as you feel a sore throat coming on, then spit out rather than swallow.
The gargle is best made and used fresh each day.
