    As usual, Gale's recipe rocks! And it's unfair to rate the cake based on the sauce.

    I did not make the saffron pound cake. I was looking for a good lemon sauce recipe and this was not it. I'm an experienced cook and I followed the directions but this sauce had to go straight down the drain.
