My daughters and I watched the Unique Sweets episode where these caramels were made. We made them the next day. Extremely easy to make, hardly any time at all, and THE BEST caramels we've ever had...and we eat chocolate covered caramel all the time from stores. That's our favorite kind of candy. They are very gooey...not solid, but we melted down some semi-sweet choc in microwave, and used skewers to dip the pieces completely, placed on wax paper covered cookie sheet, and then put in fridge. The chocolate holds the shape and makes them easier to hold, plus adds an extra flavor. They won't be square or rectangle. They'll be warped blobs, but taste good! We then wrapped each piece in wax paper. our hands-on time was 1 hour from cooking to being done wrapping, not counting hour of cooling. Fantastic quality time project with kiddos. Just made baggies for all our friends. Getting ready to make more in a few minutes! Can't run out!! Love the salty taste!
