  • 4 fresh basil leaves, plus 1 leaf for garnish
  • 2 ounces tequila, such as Don Julio
  • 1/2 ounce lime juice
  • 1/2 ounce pineapple juice
  • 1/2 ounce simple syrup
  • 1 dash bitters, such as Peychaud's
  • Ice, for chilling
  • Crispy prosciutto or bacon, for garnish
  • Pinch cayenne pepper

Directions

Add 4 of the basil leaves to a cocktail shaker and muddle. Add the tequila, lime juice, pineapple juice, simple syrup and bitters. Fill with ice and shake. Strain into a rocks glass with one large cube of ice. Garnish with prosciutto or bacon and a basil leaf and sprinkle with a pinch of cayenne.
