This cheesecake is excellent, texture and taste. Plus it is creamy and easy to do. I am allergic to gluten, so I use Schar gluten-free shortbread cookies instead of graham crackers (easier to find than the G-F graham crackers), add 1/4 teaspoon xanthan gum and use vanilla beans instead of ground cinnamon in the crust. I make the filling with adding a smidgen of fresh grated nutmeg to the cream cheese. Do follow his directions on how to make. Sometimes I forego the topping, since the filling can stand alone especially when I use Meyer lemons. I make this recipe into 4-inch cheesecakes for bake sales and they disappear quickly (even consumed before they get out the door). Thank you Tyler!

The only reason I'm giving this one star is: What's the big deal? This is the same recipe EVERYONE in my extended family, (and most of my friends), uses, nothing different not even the topping. Every relative I have has this recipe memorized from repeated use. I made this exact recipe for the first time when I was eleven. I'm forty. I make a fresh strawberry topping, my sister a blueberry one, someone else serves it with fresh fruit, sometimes topped with lemon curd. This is a standard cheesecake recipe, delicious, but, BIG DEAL!!

I've used a family recipe for cheesecake forever but found myself unable to get access to the recipe since I wasn't at home so ...... I trusted Tyler with so many other recipes I've tried of his I figured what the heck. OMG ~ I may never go back to my "family" recipe again. This was simply the ULTIMATE cheesecake I've ever made or eaten. Everyone raved and not a morsel with left on anyones plates. Thank you once again Tyler for steering me into stardom with my family and friends.

I made this & it was amazing.... The sour cream really makes it less dense than most cheesecakes, my family loved it! Also, since there's only 2 Tbs in the blueberries they are tart, not too sweet, for families watching their sugar this was great. Will be in my family best recipes file for all future generations to enjoy.... Thanks Tyler your the best.....

Who needs the Cheescake Factory.....This is named 100% Correct....THE ULTIMATE CHEESECAKE......Creamy, Full of flavor, Easy, and Simply FANTASTIC....Lasted one day in my house......Heed Tyler's warning on not cutting into this for four hours, it is so full of creamy goodness it will be a bit messy if you do...How do I know? I did by a half hour......TIP: not that it needs one but I only had a half of lemon on hand so I used half a lemon zest and a lime zest, the combo was great....Thanks Tyler for sharing..
