If you blend in a little instant mashed potatoes with the beans you get a thicker soup with added flavor. This is a very simple very good soup.

This soup was very good. I loved that it was so creamy with so little cream added. My modifications included adding 5 sage leaves, because I find that herb very mild as it is. It was a good choice. My husband said that he wished there were more beans. I added two cans, but pureed one, so i think maybe 3 would be better for something a little more hearty. Thanks Giada.

This soup is simple to make and went great with the chicken wings I had baked. It is creamy but not thick. I think if you want a thicker soup just add less cream. I think 1/4 cup would still give the soup that creamy light color without thinning it. This soup reminded me of the Navy Bean that my mom makes but with a more garlic flavor.
