There are several faults with this version The CORRECT printed version is to found by searching for Bal Arneson's veggy burgers in 20 minutes. (food network in the UK.
I think a whole red onion is too much; I used half a one. Next- if you just mix those into the beans and cook them relatively quickly,, then all you taste is RAW onion when you eat them
I only used one and a HALF Tablespoons of the masala given that her recipe is incorrect here, and that's enough. Had I used TEASPOONS of pomegranate and Mango powder I would have used more. FINALLY, and this is a promise, the whole thing is much improved from adding one tablespoon of brown sugar.
Next time I am going to soften the onions in a pan first!
I am sure that my sweety will like them in a bun with Mango chutney!

This recipe is okay if you use the chana masala recipe as shown in the video, not in the written recipe. The written chana masala recipe is incorrect. If you watch the video you'll notice that she adds 2 teaspoons each of pomegranate and mango powder, not 2 Tablespoons. Also, she adds 1/2 tsp of chili powder, not 1 whole tsp. For salt she says "a little bit" and it looks like not much more than a pinch. The recipe lists 1/2 tsp, which may be too much based on the saltiness of your can of beans and the full tsp of salt that gets added to the burger mix. Also, the printed recipe leaves out the 1-2 Tbs of chopped fresh ginger she adds in the video. The fenugreek adds a lot of bitterness, reduce or leave out.
Taste and texture-wise, there are better veggie burger recipes out there. I don't think I'd make this again without a lot of alteration, and the inconsistency between the written recipe and the video has me wondering if I want to try anything else of hers........
