Top End

Episode: CCBGH-105H

In Northern Territory, all kinds of culinary cultures collide; it is where South East Asia meets Australia, and indigenous Australians can live off the land and on traditional foods. Bill gathers a fishing tip or two in the quest for the best barramundi from the colloquial "tinnie" in the local waterways, and visits the famous markets and market gardens of Darwin where Asia's influence on our food culture in nowhere more apparent. On from Darwin, Bill travels to Arnhem Land where fish and crabs are speared from the idyllic palm-fringed turquoise seas of the Gulf of Carpentaria, and culture and tradition dictate the gathering and enjoyment of food, and the willingness to journey far and wide for it.
