The Modern Family star Ty Burrell bought the oldest bar in Salt Lake City with his brother and a couple of friends. They transformed the beer-only bar into an upscale cocktail lounge.
The bar opened in 1933 on the same day Prohibition ended. Salt Lake City has always had very strict liquor laws (formerly requiring customers to buy a membership to drink). Cocktails are limited to 1.5 ounces of liquor plus 1 ounce of alcholic flavoring per drink and all the booze must be locked up by 1 am.
