Mai Chau

Mai Chau is the last stop for Luke on his journey through the northern regions of Vietnam. Here he prepares a young jackfruit salad, which he shares with a nearby family in their stilt house. In the searing heat, he cooks a fish in bamboo in the spectacular village grounds and later roasts a freshly slaughtered suckling pig for a village feast. Here Luke shares his stories, drinks cassava wine and is up on his feet dancing their traditional bamboo dance.
