Patti LaBelle's Bio

Patti LaBelle is a two time Grammy Award-winning singer, a best-selling author of five successful books, a three-time Emmy nominee, the star of a hit television series, and philanthropist who devotes her time and talent to numerous charities. LaBelle has celebrated a prolific career that has spanned over 50 years, and is widely known for classic rhythm and blues renditions, pop standards and spiritual sonnets including "Lady Marmalade," "New Attitude" and "If You Asked Me To." She first blossomed from a choir member to lead vocalist for the girl groups Patti LaBelle & The Bluebelles, and later Labelle, before launching a solo career. In 2008, adding to her long list of achievements, LaBelle launched a food and lifestyle brand, Patti LaBelle – Good Life, which includes a line of signature sauces, marinades, spices, cookbooks, instructional cooking DVDs, and bedding. LaBelle's love for entertaining comes from the heart, and continues to motivate her work as an entertainer, entrepreneur and humanitarian.
