The Originals: Emeril Heads Home to NOLA

By: Sara Levine

Tonight on The Originals, Emeril is down south in his adopted hometown of New Orleans. He’s got several applauded restaurants of his own in the Big Easy, but the places he highlights go back way before his time.

Café du Monde is a Jackson Square landmark beloved by locals and tourists alike. Emeril delights in the simple pleasure of beignets – New Orleans-style doughnuts buried in powdered sugar—and chicory-laced coffee.

As you can imagine, Emeril has many friends in New Orleans restaurants, so it’s no surprise when he heads back to the kitchen at the classic Italian spot Casamento's to whip up cocktail sauce for the oyster bar.

At Antoine's, in the heart of the French Quarter, Emeril takes us on a tour of the 15 dining rooms. He gets some inside scoop on two of this institution’s most iconic dishes: Oysters Rockefeller and Baked Alaska.

Are you hungry yet? It’s hard not to be when the conversation involves New Orleans. Join Emeril for a delicious tour tonight at 10:30pm/9:30c.

Check out The Originals Restaurant List for the full rundown of Emeril's food tours in some of America's tastiest cities. Are there some Originals in your town that Emeril should visit? Let us know in the comments.
