Get Them Something Different This Year for the Holidays

By: Frank Samperi

Like many pork enthusiasts, I get pretty excited about bacon. So, naturally, when I saw this cute Sparkling Bacon Ornament on stupid.com, I squealed with delight. This is bacon so precious, even a vegetarian can get behind it.

Whoever you're shopping for this holiday, Cooking Channel has some great holiday gift ideas to explore. Some of my faves:

These cute little party plates from CB2 would get conversation started at anyone's get together.

Triple-Decker Fudge Bars — need I say more?

For the cook who has everything? I bet they don't have Nadia G.'s guitar spatulas. Kitchy, campy and serious fun!

This recipe for Sweet and Spicy Kettle Corn only takes 15 minutes, and makes an easy, tasty gift for neighbors or folks at the office.

Another super easy homemade gift to pull off is Kelsey's Cranberry Honey Butter recipe.

For the snacky meat-lover in your life, you can create your very own custom beef jerky with SlantShack.

For a boozy gift with a little kick, this recipe for  Thai Bird Vodka is pretty hot. Start infusing now, and it will be perfect in a week or two to gift.

Brighten up someone's kitchen with a colorful kitchen calendar.

Mix up a batch of this tangy, punchy, and perfectly balanced juniper-coriander Mop Sauce recipe for the barbecue enthusiast to slather on their next chicken dinner.

One more gift idea: get them cooking classes! Julia Child didn't emerge a kitchen guru overnight. An evening or weekend cooking class — usually offered at local schools and colleges — will elevate any cooking enthusiast's skills, whether perfecting basic technique, exploring a new cuisine or taking it to the next level.
