The Ultimate Cookie Cookbook Giveaway
The best part about the holiday season is cookies, cookies and more cookies! And when it comes to recipes, I never get tired of searching for the next super-star new cookie to grace this year’s holiday cookie plate. Of course, we’ve collected some amazing new recipes (and made-over old faves) for Cooking Channel's all-star cookie swap, but I’ve also had my eye on a few of the new cookie cookbooks out there. Here are some new ones, plus sample recipes to get you baking.
Classic cookies get gentle makeovers in this cute cookbook from Stacy Adimando, food editor at Every Day with Rachael Ray magazine. Novice and experienced bakers alike will appreciate these sure-fire, standby recipes, and the book makes a perfect stocking stuffer.
Cookies for Kids’ Cancer: Best Bake Sale Cookbook, by Gretchen Holt-Witt
Pediatric cancer claims more lives than any other childhood disease in the U.S. When Gretchen Holt-Witt’s 2 1/2-year-old son was diagnosed with cancer in 2007 she became a mom on a mission, setting out to raise funds for cancer research by baking cookies — she baked 96,000 cookies and raised more than $420,000 her first year. Inspired by the success, she started Cookies for Kids’ Cancer, a non-profit that encourages people around the country to host their own bake sales. Now you can contribute to the cause by buying this cookbook; all proceeds go directly to Cookies for Kids’ Cancer.
Cookies at Home with the Culinary Institute of America, by The Culinary Institute of America This beautiful cookie cookbook from the CIA will have you baking like a pro in no time, with sections on tips and techniques and decorating and packaging, plus almost 100 recipes, ranging from classics to new faves. There are even cookie projects worked in — see how to build a gingerbread house!
One Sweet Cookie: Celebrated Chefs Share Favorite Recipes, by Tracey Zabar
For the ultimate cookie swap, Tracey Zabar rounded up favorite cookie recipes from top chefs around the country, like Lidia Bastianich’s Orange Cookies, Marcus Samuelsson’s Ginger Citrus Cookies and Mario Batali’s Crazy Cowboy Cookies.
Sugar, Sugar: Every Recipe Has a Story, by Kimberly “Momma” Reiner and Jenna Sanz-Agero
Okay, so this isn’t just a cookie cookbook — it also includes cakes, pies and more — but the cookies, bars and candies look fantastic for the holiday season. The authors collected recipes for sweet treats, along with anecdotes, from around the country, creating a beautiful cookbook that’s as fun to read as it is to cook from.
