How can you make eating barbecue even better? Add unlimited beer and bourbon tastings, of course. At the Beer, Bourbon and Barbecue Festival that kicked off in New York City this past weekend, revelers ate their way through pulled pork sandwiches and classic collard greens while sucking down craft brews and whiskeys. New York City was just the first of an eight-stop tour that might be coming soon to a city near you. Check out what we chowed down on, below.

You may have seen desserts or cocktails sweetened with agave, but this was our first encounter with a beer that had been brewed with the nectar.  Breckenridge Brewery, based out of Colorado, poured an American Wheat Ale that was light and refreshing.

Blacksauce Kitchen traveled from Baltimore, MD to make its meaty sandwiches served on a homemade biscuit.

NYC-based Hill Country served Brisket Over Mashed Sweet Potato drizzled with barbecue sauce.

That Burger thought outside the box with their cheesy tater tot mash.

Royal Rib House, based in Brooklyn, NY, had many fans of its pulled pork sandwiches.

Vendors were on hand for a variety of take-home items, including bootleg kits from Thousand Oaks Barrel Co.

Now that we've got you craving BBQ and all the fixin's, try your hand at Rachael's Pulled Chicken With Bourbon BBQ, Pulled Pork Sandwiches or delicious BBQ Nachos.
