Some of the greatest lessons I've learned from my mother were taught to me in the kitchen. The kitchen was the heart of our home and the place that I loved to be most – especially when spending time with my mom. When it comes to cooking, the greatest influence my mom had on me was her attitude and approach. She never complained about making dinner and utilized the kitchen as a creative outlet and an opportunity to showcase her talents.

Her signature recipes always remind me of home. One of my favorites is her classic Vegetable Lasagna. When a mom is known for a signature dish that involves vegetables, you know she must be good! I can't wait to continue the tradition of passing down my mom's signature recipes while contributing my own to the family lineup as well.

Speaking of family lineup, ours is expanding! My husband Robby and I are expecting our first baby this fall and we are over the moon about our bun in the oven. I cannot wait to become a mother myself, following my own mother's example by making the kitchen the heart of our home where hopefully our baby (BOY!) will love spending time with me.
