Thirsty Thursday: The French Margarita

It’s more than just alliteration; it’s a statement, a proclamation that Thursdays are when the weekend should really start. Kicking it off right is the key, and what better way than with a cocktail that not only takes the edge off, but tastes good too. A hard thing to disagree with, we know. Drink up, get down and go to sleep happy.
Celebrate the end of a long day, beginning of a great weekend and start of something new -- your imminent addiction to this French Margarita. This Saturday is French National Day — otherwise known as Bastille Day, the perfect time to meet one of our favorite fancied-up summer drinks. If you relish in the occasional tequila-based cocktail, wait 'til you taste what Grand Marnier and Chambord bring to the party.
Bottoms up, folks.
Pour tequila into a 12-ounce glass. Add Grand Marnier. Pour in lime juice, orange juice and sweet and sour mix. Cover the glass firmly with a cocktail shaker and shake to mix the ingredients.
Fill a margarita glass with ice, then pour the mixture into the glass, using a strainer to keep the ice out of the glass. Top with Chambord. Garnish with a skewer of two blackberries and one raspberry (or vice versa).
