Olympic Golden Cocktail

Someone who proves him or herself as one of the world's best athletes at the Olympics deserves to let loose. And while you'd think the best way to celebrate surviving two weeks of intense competition would involve hours of jacuzzi time followed by a two- to nine-month nap, a club in London feels otherwise.

The bar Chinawhite is handing out £2,012 cocktails to gold medal-winning Olympians instead. "The Golden Cocktail," a mix of Hennessy Paradis Imperial Cognac and Luxor 24ct gold-leaf champagne, has several custom-made 18ct gold rings at the bottom of the glass. Though taking the edge off with a flavorful mix of booze is definitely our style, we prefer our cocktails to be a little more accessible. To that end, our own Classy Ladies Alie Ward and Georgia Hardstark have invented an amazing cocktail based on another English tale of overcoming incredible odds. Watch them honor the dickens out of soda pop with their Grape Expectations Cocktail. Because everyone should be able to enjoy a weirdly innovative drink, regardless of their athletic prowess.
