Chef David LeFevre’s food at M.B. Post is simply delicious. A lot of thought and heart goes into his dishes, as well as fresh ingredients from Coastal Farms. I had a great time seeing what goes into his cooking. I wish I could have taken those bacon cheddar biscuits home with me!

The Serving Spoon in Inglewood embodies what I love about soul food. The menu reminded me of food you’d see in Atlanta. I had a wonderful time in the kitchen cooking up some breakfast Salmon Croquettes. You can’t go wrong with having people over for a big breakfast!

Finding dessert can be tough when someone in your group is “on a diet.” Sinners & Saints caters to anyone with a sweet tooth, regardless of the calories. The “sinners” desserts are decadent and filled with chocolate, and the “saints” desserts are all gluten-free and feature fresh seasonal fruit.

Award-winning hot local chefs Jon Shook and Vinny Dotolo have branched out from their restaurant Animal to create a foodie’s perfect dining experience. If you’re looking for a fantastic experience with well-thought-out flavors, this is the spot. The menu changes with the seasons, but the staple shrimp toast sandwich can’t be beat.

Part of the fun of the L.A. food scene is the mobile food trucks and carts. Some of the best new chefs are taking their concepts on wheels. The Churro Borough takes a local classic and gives it a sweeter twist: churro-custard ice cream sandwiches. You can follow the cart on Twitter.
