When you think about  summer party planning, backyard barbecues probably come to mind, but there are other fun themes you can try, too. When it really heats up, try staying in the air conditioning while playing a friendly game of poker with your friends.

While the adults are wheeling and dealing, it's important to keep the younger crowd out of the way. One of the easiest ways to keep the kids busy is making a fun game like cornhole or something interactive like DIY Play-Doh.
