Shake off summertime idleness: It's time to jump back into the kitchen with Kelsey.

Kelsey Nixon returns for a second season of Kelsey's Essentials this Saturday at 2 p.m. ET. She'll share her essential recipes, techniques, tools and tips to make you a pro in the kitchen.

Here's a sneak peek of what she's cooking up for season 2:

Kelsey's first episode is all about updating classic desserts, like her showstopping fruit pizza. A delicious, soft and chewy sugar cookie crust provides the base for a lemony cream cheese frosting and glazed fruit.

Kelsey dedicates episode two to the idea of simple sandwiches. She uses bread as a blank canvas and adds tasty, flavorful ingredients to make one killer sandwich, like her Fried Green Tomato BLT.

Later on in the season, Kelsey offers up her best ideas for small plates, including this sweet twist on chips and salsa. She turns flour tortillas into cinnamon chips, and whips up a sweet salsa from in-season stone fruits.

And don't miss her episode on indoor barbecuing. She's got it all covered: ribs for her main, pie pops for dessert, and her Tangy Maple Baked Beans for a side.

Be sure to tune into Kelsey's Essentials on Saturdays at 2:30 p.m. ET to get these recipes and more from Kelsey.
