discovery+ will feature the largest-ever content offering of any streaming platform at launch, which is slated for early 2021 in the US.

We’ve got breaking news: Discovery is launching a new streaming service, discovery+ and it will singularly offer the greatest collection of real-life entertainment. For the first time, Discovery’s iconic brands, including HGTV, Food Network, TLC, ID, Animal Planet, Discovery Channel and more; much-loved personalities; the BBC’s natural history collection; and exclusive, original series and documentaries will be available to stream all in one place. Discovery+ will begin streaming on January 4, 2021 and will feature the largest-ever content offering of any streaming platform at launch, including more than 55,000 episodes from 2,500 current and classic shows, as well as several hundred hours of original and exclusive content. Longtime Food Network fans will be thrilled to see some of their favorite chefs and stars on discovery+. Tregaye Fraser is hosting Cakealikes, a sweet new cake competition in which bakers must create lifelike versions of celebs you know and love — think Kim Kardashian and The Rock. Their designs will be judged by Natalie Sideserf and Kalen Allen, as well as guests including Manny Gutierrez (aka Manny MUA), Flava Flav and Maureen McCormick. Bobby Flay and Giada De Laurentiis are hitting the road with their brand-new show, Bobby and Giada in Italy. They’re taking viewers on a droolworthy culinary tour of Italy, complete with picturesque landscapes and so. much. pasta. Plus, we’ll have tons of Chopped Challenge episodes up for grabs, so settle in for a weekend-long watch party!
discovery+ will launch in the US in early 2021 and will roll out to 25 more countries over the next year. The product will be fully distributed across all major platforms, including connected TVs, web, mobile, tablets and game consoles. Bonus: Each account will include up to five user profiles and four concurrent streams, among the most offered in the streaming video category.
For direct purchase, discovery+ will be available in the U.S. starting at $4.99 per month, with an ad-free version available for $6.99 per month. For more information, visit discoveryplus.com and follow us @discoveryplus.
