Instead of eating messy corn on the cob, make Haylie Duff's  delicious corn bread in your cast iron skillet — it does double duty as a side for dinner and as breakfast the next morning. Bonus points if you slather it with homemade Gorgonzola Butter.

Put a fancy twist on your baked beans with simple ingredients: cannellini beans, olive oil, garlic rosemary and sage. They can slow-cook on the fire while you have your fun in the sun.

Grill up your vegetables  and your cheese with these great kebabs from Kelsey Nixon. You can make the spicy avocado-dill dip ahead of time and just keep it in the cooler until you're ready to chow down.

Tomatoes and shallots bring great flavor to this foil-packet-cooked salmon Just set it in a pan over the fire and you'll have a delicious and easy main course that beats hot dogs any day.

Tiffani Thiessen's S'mores in a Jar take the mess out of making the sticky treat, but keep in all of the traditional flavors. You can torch your marshmallows ahead of time or carefully do so next to the fire with your friends. Another fun option is  Haylie's Banana Boats, which are grilled and stuffed with melted candy and other treats.
