Biscuits with Ham and Cheddar Sauce

2 tubes prepared ready-to-bake biscuits

8 slices country-style ham

1 cup chicken broth

1 cup cream

1/4 cup melted butter

1/4 cup flour

1 cup grated cheddar cheese


  1. Prepare biscuits according to package directions. Brown ham in a skillet; remove ham and add chicken broth. Stir to scrape browned bits of cooked ham. Add cream and bring to a simmer. Cook until reduced. Mix flour and butter and stir into cream mix. Blend well to prevent lumps and to avoid having to strain sauce. Stir in cheese over low heat until melted. Cut biscuits in half (across, not down). Place a slice of ham in each biscuit and serve smothered with sauce.
